Engine Room

This is absolutely my favorite place inside the boat.  It is the biggest engine room I've ever seen for a boat this size.

There are shelves and wall space and work space to do anything.

This Yanmar 4JH4-TE is a turbo diesel and produces about 70 horsepower.

Usually, we motor at at about 1800 rpm and that gives us around 4 knots.

The turbo doesn't even start spinning till the mid 2000's.

Coupled to the engine is a new ZF30M transmission.  It can handle over 100 horsepower, so it does quite well with this Yanmar.

There is a flex coupling on the output shaft.

Also inside the engine room:

Battery monitoring station with charger, trickle charger, and solar controller.

Also, a station for selecting a fuel tank and transfering fuel to the day tank.

Pictured above are the DC panel and AC panel and the back of the panels inside the engine room.  Not all the switches go to something.  For example, there is no water maker on the boat.

The bilge pump is new and sits under the engine.  It does not kick on very often though.  This boat is pretty tight.
