Salon and Nav Station

Navigation Station:

There is a large SSB that comes on and shows all sorts of numbers, but I don't know anything else about it.  The VHF radio works well, and so does the depth gauge in the Nav Station.  The depth gauge at the helm works well to.

For a radio, I simply installed an amplifier so you can plug anything (such as a phone) into the aux cord and listen to it.

It's a pretty nice little station.  I was going to use it as an office for grading school papers and such.

Toto thinks that if she sits in the big chair, then she must be in charge of this outfit.

Under the stairs is an access panel on the wall for getting to the engine.  This is also how the new engine was installed without having to tear a hole in the cockpit floor.  The engine just barely fit through this access panel.

On the floor in front of the Engine room panel, is a floor hatch that I made out of birch plywood.  I know it sucks that it does not match the teak and holly floor, but it is under the stairs, so you usually won't even see it at all.  I would have used teak and holly if there was a place around here that sold such fancy stuff.  The only water tank on the boat is accessed through this floor hatch.  It is a big tank.  (I think it might be like 200 gallons, not sure.)

I installed a new Marine Air Conditioner in the closet forward of the main salon.  This unit is rated at 16,000 btu, but only uses about 1400 watts.  It will work at a cooler or a heater and it works really well.  The water pump for this unit is also brand new and pumps plenty of water through the unit.
